It’s Indonesia’s Turn

One of the top leading malls in Indonesia, Grand Indonesia, has always been famous for its grand and luxury, just like its name. Constantly offering new and interesting shops, restaurants, and events to many people. Grand Indonesia consists of shops ranging from international to local labels. One of the hippest and modish fashion concepts in Grand Indonesia is Level One. What is Level One?

Level One is an especially dedicated space of 2.700 m² for up-and-coming local designers from Indonesia. While Grand Indonesia is noted for it's branded lifestyle and fashion, Level One gives people a fresh and unique experience from Indonesian young designers. Moreover, Level One not only provides clothes, but also accessories, photography, furniture, and a special open space for exhibitions, fashion shows, and cafes as well.

As citizens of Indonesia we know very well of the effects of globalization. The fast and ever-growing technology has made us exposed to many cultures globally. True that it has numerous positive effects on our daily lives, but how has it effected on our love towards our homeland Indonesia? People are slowly overlooking local designers to international designers. If the people of Indonesia does not even support it’s own labels, then who will? With that question in mind, Level One has provided the right answer and solution.

The problem why we overlook our local designers is because they are lacking of exposure. Commercials are expensive, thus they become overshadowed by the various international brands that are filling up the malls with huge banners and advertisements. What local designers need is to get noticed and get the opportunity to present their work to a larger audience. Grand Indonesia does just that. By creating Level One, local designers and retailers are given the opportunity to display their vision and creativity.

This is a breakthrough, a golden ticket for local designers. Their products scream originality and ingenuity. It is a breath of fresh air. The neglected artists of our nation have evolved and now recognized thanks to Level One. The designs are intriguing with a sense of quirkiness and weirdness (in the utmost good way!). It is a safe bet that there is nothing like their designs in any other places. A few of the shops available at Level One are Naima, 16DS, Ciel, Cocomomo, Damn! I Love Indonesia, Deer, Eightshop, Geulis, Harrington Home, House Of Jealouxy, Hunting Fields, Ichwan Toha, Kaligula, Kle, Magic Happens and MYE, Mimsy, Monday to Sunday, No'om and Soe.Hoe, Plastic Culture, Rebel For A Cause Charity Store, Satcas & Sash, Saint And Sinner, Silla Home, Tikshirt, Tick Tock, Tosavica, Venom, and Lomography.

summer is officially over.
I've spent half of my summer at Germany+Paris in an exchange-student program and backpacking with friends. A quarter of summer lingering in Jakarta, mid night chats, phone calls, and surprises..still jet lag. The other quarter accompanying the Germans around Jakarta, partying at clubs, house, even in the bus! Now it's time to come back to reality, school has finally begun.

Lack of updates, I know.

Never really liked the instant hot chocolates they sell at the grocery store, it doesn't have that fresh brewed taste and froth I like. Lately I've been making hot chocolates at home with Pierre Herme's Monsieur Truffle dark chocolate 70% cocoa. I mix it with some skim milk under hot fire until it boils just a bit and then whisk it up to have that froth I like. Hmm...

I live in Indonesia, where the wedding customs here is to invite everyone that you know(even though you haven't spoke to them in 15 years) or you might know or maybe you don't even know but because it's one of your family's friend so you invite them. You have it in a bigbig hotel room with lotsa food whr everyone go there well mainly bcos of the free food. And there's no bonding or talks going around because the venue is so huge you hardly no anyone there..

Come on, where's the love?

Anyway I always thought that my future wedding is gonna be a drag. I hate to stand up in front and shake hands with everyone that I don't know while putting on a fake happy smile as if I really cared that whoever-this-strangers-are-saying.

I HATE MORNING RUSH

Okay here's the deal, I have 3 alarms every day.

The first one is at 05.15 AM, this is a 'hey-its-morning-already!-alarm' just to alert me to stop dreaming and start waking up to face another school day. The second one is at 05.25 AM to remind me to wake up, and that I should go to the bathroom by that time. The third one is at 5.45 AM to alert me its time to go down stairs.

Down stairs I only have 6 minutes to put on my shoes, drink some milk, small talks with mom, and putting in all my bags in the car..because I have to leave the house by 5.51 AM and that's the latest, if not I'll be stuck in the jam! (So actually I love school nowadays, {its the mornings that I have problem with} with all the great friends in class and no more annoying subjects. And lately the teachers are really cool and more relax, like today from third until the seventh period we watched Slumdog Millionaire, Bring It On 5 and Step Up 2..wohoo!)

My fringe is like my very own personal curtain. If its down (on school days) it means I'm in a lazy mood so my visions are dark and gloomy, and then I'll just fall asleep in class hahaha!

Basically, it's time to cut it man! I took this picture months ago, now it almost touches my upper lip.

If I wasn't in school I would love to cut my fringe into asymmetrical shapes, but then my nun would kill me.. Any ideas for my next venture on new styles of hair?

Jesus I hate myself for this. I hate myself for not finding the time to post anything. I hate looking at bloglines and see hundreds and hundreds (852 to be precise) blog posts I havent read. I hate the feeling where I lots of things and pictures to share but I cant. I hate my computer for being to slow and still raw because I just format it (yeap just format it but still super slowmo). Japanese Food Craze

Me and my family always go to South Jakarta to eat Japanese food every week, because my brother had encountered a Japanese food street heaven and its filled up with many Japs not to mention disgusting old Jap men looking for girls. So be careful in choosing the restaurant or else you can get yourself into a night bar!
It is at Blok M and the restaurants all line up there. I have tried a few, some disappointments but mostly quite satisfied. Although nothing can compare and never will defeate Kenzan (Melbourne, sushi God!!!)

And the pictures above are taken from En Okonomi Dining which is located at Melawai (next to Tamani Cafe) it is on the second floor across Ramen 38 Ippachi. On the first floor there's Kamome (Japanese supermarket and bakery) plus Starbucks.
I'm not gonna say the food is super great though, it is delicious and decent. But the sashimi is defineatly worth paying for rather than all that Japanese Restaurant Malls and I'm not gonna say names.
To get maximal freshness of the fish you should go there on Fridays because that's when they import the fishes from Japan.

I have been thinking of posting some pics into my blog but that never happen thanks to my super low internet speed. Not only that is slow it is also full of errors and debugs and i seriously do not know how to fix it. It's eating up my nerve Everytime something goes wrong with my PC! Well excuse my PC i've had it i think for 6-8 years already? But it still looks good tho from the exterior.
Yes i have start school and i'm the new class monitor, again. Being in the arts stream (or social, for some ppl who call it that) is seriously making ways of more free time for myself. There's not really much homework! Due to this i'm thinking of taking a new hobby, getting more serious at sports, and taking up some lessons on new stuff.
Okay! Here's what i came up with my friends :
jazz dance, hiphop dance, capoera (dunno how to spell it), yoga, tennis, and digital art.
But i'm still in that lazy holiday mood and i dont want to be!

I went tea walking today with my school @ puncak - gunung mas
The fresh air (except the HORSE POO eww) was just what I need :D

I have had diarrhea for like 3 days now! (ooh poor me)
I was craving for Burger King so much I decided to stopped by BK and get a burger

Despite the fact that I had diarrhea, I didn't want to eat fast food anymore
Remember kids, fast food maybe fast and oh-so-yummy-delicious-guilty pleasure-oh-goodness, but it is also fattening and it doesn't have enough vitamins to keep you growing!

Because of all the walking in daylight today, my cheeks are as pink as the pig's buttocks.

Oh and I can't wait to go Taiwan (5 more days to go!)

Woke up, laid in bed for about 35 mins thinking " What should I do this Sunday morning? ". Of course the song Sunday Morning-Maroon 5 never seems to get old nor boring because every time I hear it I feel more upbeat and happy.
Going to the Taiwan Group meeting today @ 1 pm, and then go somewhere to eat, church, and gonna fetch my brother from Melb later on. After 35 minutes I decided to swim, since on December last year I said to myself on my TO-DO-LIST to swim 2-3x a week! BUT, ah a true proscatinator and pig I am, I've never been able to cross that part of my to-do-list. Actually nothing is crossed yet on that reeeed color paper to-do-list.. sigh*

Anyway! The holiday's almost here! One more week and I'm off to Taiwan with Tasia Maura Jenni Indra Dudu and 18 other kids from my group, 50 other kids from Jakarta, 200 other kids from Indonesia, and a bunch of number kids from all over the world.

Twitter as the cover of Times mag? This is huge.

It is crazy how Twitter has become a sensational IN thing with the young the old the serious the fun and its even far more sensational than facebook! At first I wonder like seriously what's the use of this? Well besides for being snoopy in other people's lives, and also the fact that u can now the latest news from CNN's tweets.. What else ya? Hm.
But now u can actually make money with twitter, great huh.
But Twitter is fun I admit. I had a Twitter acc before and never used it since I think its ridiculous and back then none of my friends had Twitter. But after 4 days of using Twitter it is preety much exciting to know what your friends or unknows or celebrity that u follow are doing, or are eating, or are feeling, or are thinking.
Twitter I think its like a blog. You say anything that u want that's on ur mind or u talk about what's happening in your life. Its just that in Twitter u only can write 140 chars, people ARE getting lazier with the fast-growing technology this days, me too hah!
Hey the creator IS the same guy, hellow? Evan Williams and Biz Stone if I'm not mistaken.

i love mornings after 8 am. i HATE mornings before 8, unless there's some really cool adventurous outings to do and i have to wake up at that god-forsaken hour, its okay. like for example i slept at 12 pm and had to wake up at 3 am to go to the Blue Mountain to snowboard, or when i had to wake up at 5 in the morning to see the sun rise at pulau pantara, and once i tried to take a picture of the changing morning skies colors from 4-6 am but i wasn't very familiar with SLR cameras at that time so yeeah totally huge disaster and such a waste of time

anyway mornings are wonderful! the sun, the light, and the shine.. ahh.. love it..

1. Decided to take arts, since i dont think im gonna take any sience-ish course for uni eventho my second term science grades are good.. Which, YES i am proud of yay :D

Yes easter has passed, and it kinda helped me in some ways to realize things. I'm not that holy but quite concerned about this kind of things, but not in a really BIG HUGE OH-MY-I-CANT-SAY-GOD-so-OHMYGOSH way.

some run away from food caused of stress, some run to food caused of stress, some just eat and eats anytime anywhere and thats me. feeling guilty the next minute seeing how flabby my 3 layer stomach is GOSH. because this holiday i usually just chill and relax and there's not much things to think about so all i can think about is the wonderful food there is in this world. the next thing you will be seeing me cooking up something or eating or buying food. and because our Wonderful cable TV has 2 of my favourite channels : AFC and Travel and Living i'll be drooling like a dog in the summer days swallowing saliva. ENVYING PEOPLE WHO EAT AND DONT GET FAT :O

spent most of the days with friends i.e maura and jenni twas so much fun gragrh :D you know you love them if you can feel comfortable and there is no forced conversations in between it.

I hate today. I hate tomorrow. I hate the last of my get-up-late-eatlikeadog-sleep-late days. 2 days more and its school ! :D <- fake smile.
